You learned that to get through life, you must be perfect, “proper,” and stay invisible. But operating down this path comes at a cost: overwhelming pressure, self-hatred, and feeling like an imposter in your skin. Belonging has never been easy for me, especially as a child of Asian immigrant parents. The pressure to be "enough" for others or to offset the guilt I felt for all the sacrifices my parents made to succeed in the United States has contributed to my resilience and anxious attempts to hide my imperfections. So, this is an invitation to those who want permission to mess up, be imperfect, and recover from unmet needs.
This is the space to address who you are, where you fit in, or why you remain trapped in actions that add personal suffering. Let’s balance working through your needs with evidence-based approaches and authentic human connection. You get to decide what to build, rebuild, and embrace how to fully exist in your life. This process is hard, and it's possible.
Because you are not alone in this, we will help you engage in life by incorporating skills blended with lightheartedness and openness to ask hard, awkward, and taboo questions. There is a place welcome for you here at my office, whether in person or virtually (NC and 40+ states). Take the step to connect with me by calling, email, or scheduling online!
