Hi, I am Emily! I have a BA in Psychology and Crisis Counseling, and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a minor in Pastoral Counseling. I am currently a recent graduate with a history of working with crisis patients’ diagnoses, of anxiety and depression. I enjoy working with children and adolescents. I have experience working with children who have additional diagnoses and conditions including terminal illness, traumatic brain injuries, and disabilities.
The focus of my work has been on symptom management and working with clients to develop coping skills and reduce stress. I am experienced with tailoring counseling to what is best for the client and what the client wants. I work with a nonjudgmental attitude and use person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and CBT modalities.
I believe the therapeutic relationship should be authentic, supportive, and collaborative. I work to create a safe environment where clients can work on self-esteem, challenges, and trauma. I tailor my therapy to an age appropriate approach. I am passionate about my work and commit to staying up to date on education and training.
