About
My passion is working with clients who have recently experienced a serious loss. Individuals who struggle to make meaning of significant loss, and recognize that they are experiencing complex emotions, are who I aim to help. These clients may have goals to understand why they feel this way and to better understand the complexities of the grief process. Clients may be experiencing hopelessness, feeling overwhelmed, or persistent feelings of shame and guilt, and want to improve their life in a manner that instills hope and change.
My specialty is grief, death, bereavement, and trauma. I work with clients to understand that grief is a common experience expressed in response to different types of loss and life events that is separate from the death of a loved one. I help clients identify feelings of shame, guilt, or fear that may exist, and how this may be maladaptive.
I strive to provide a calming environment in which people will feel that their voice is being heard. I believe that the hardest things we experience in life are also the moments in which the most effective change happens. I strongly believe that there is a benefit to receiving counseling as it provides you an outlet to explore different perspectives.
