Equine Assisted Adolescent DBT Therapy
Adolescent DBT equine therapy combines DBT skills group with equine assisted experiential activities aimed at behavioral rehearsal of skills. DBT skills group is aimed at improving skills in the areas of 1) mindfulness, 2) interpersonal effectiveness, 3) distress tolerance, 4) emotional regulation, and 5) walking the middle path skills. This group is a 3 hour long group with 1.5 hours focused on DBT interventions and skill attainment and 1.5 hour equine intervention with implementation of skills and interaction with equines.
Adult DBT Skills Group
DBT skills group provide skills training for adults age 21+. Skills training includes learning strategies in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Adults engaging should be receiving individual DBT work with a DBT-informed clinician or individual DBT clinician. DBT skills group is a 2 hour session. Clients are provided with materials to utilize for homework and ongoing work.
Equilateral Equine-Assisted EMDR
Equilateral EMDR is an equine-assisted EMDR model. In group, participants develop resources and gain history taking. For trauma processing, patients work individually with an EMDR therapist. The Equilateral group is a preparation phase group for trauma processing.
