I enjoy working with teens and adults and provide individual, parent, and family therapy. I help clients with depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, and various life challenges. I enjoy serving LGBTQ+ (especially transgender) clients and their loved ones. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an engineer and then I was a stay at home mom for 9 years. I had a transformative experience with therapy in my thirties. This experience inspired me to go back to school in my forties and become a therapist so I could help others who may be struggling.
I am licensed in Iowa and Minnesota.
I'm trained in TF-CBT, TBRI, Motivational Interviewing, and several DEI topics. I am especially interested in mindfulness, compassion, self-compassion, and self-care. I have taken Compassion Cultivation Training, a mindfulness and compassion educator course, five Jungian courses and am currently in a polyvagal course for anxiety, depression & trauma.
I value open communication and feedback and view therapy as a collaborative process. This empowers clients and helps us work together to personalize the therapy experience in order to maximize the benefits.
