I firmly believe there is a function to our behavior. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not. And sometimes, while our behavior made sense at one time, maybe even to the point of saving our life, it is no longer serving us. We're all just doing the best that we can but sometimes the way we're coping leads to highly negative impacts on our body, mind, spirit, & relationships. A wise mentor once shared with me that our capacity for change comes from our ability (and willingness) to reflect. I seek to empower my clients to gain the tools and self-awareness they need in order to cultivate a sense of peace and personal agency.
I currently run an Eating Disorder Clinic. All clients must have an active eating disorder/disordered eating. My entire career has been focused on working with those struggling with eating disorders and/or trauma history. I've worked in many different settings including inpatient, residential treatment, partial hospitalization & intensive outpatient.
Since I have worked in treatment centers for years, I can provide smooth transitions for people seeking outpatient therapy after treatment. I can also share insights for those unsure of what level of care would be most helpful. Honesty and authenticity are important to me. I can't expect my clients to be honest and authentic if I am not as well.
