Along with being a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have been a Professional School Counselor for 14 years. I have experience working with school aged children all the way to late adulthood. My approach seems to work very well with a variety of life challenges, especially anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress, and life transitions.
My approach to goal setting is always from a collaborative approach. This will occur naturally as we get to know one another and discuss what we both feel will be the most beneficial for healthy emotional growth.
The first session is focused on building rapport and trust. I will listen attentively and ask questions in order to get to know and understand the person and the reason they are seeking help. First sessions can be a little scary or nerve wracking but I will do my best to help ease the anxious feelings.
