Hi, my name is Emily! I am a mental health counselor that practices at Open Chair in Frankfort, Indiana. I have a background in middle and high school community mental health and crisis hotline work. I work primarily with middle and high schoolers, but I am open to working with individuals of all ages. I prefer to cater my therapy for each individual client and make therapy fun and enjoyable. Whether that be through engaging in arts and crafts activities with my teens or utilizing the sand tray with my younger clients, it is important to me that my clients feel safe and comfortable.
My therapeutic approach is person-centered, primarily through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I treat a variety of conditions and concerns, such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. However, I am open to working with other areas of concern and expanding my knowledge.
Going to therapy can be intimidating and it is important to me that I cultivate a empathetic, warm, and caring environment for my clients. Seeking help is half the journey, and I would be honored to be a part of yours.
