About
Emily is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHC-A) dedicated to treating eating disorders and trauma. She is currently only accepting clients with eating disorders, disordered eating or body image concerns at this time. She has additional training utilizing Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist clients in not only work towards recovery from an eating disorder, but also processing the underlying experiences that led to emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
Emily offers a safe space for clients to show up wherever they are at in the treatment process, and is passionate about helping clients find the best path forward towards the life they want to create in recovery. Emily has special interest in working with clients on body trust, self-compassion, body image, and trauma.
Safety and trust in the therapeutic process is one of the most important things. Emily enters into the therapeutic relationship with a posture of curiosity and compassion. She believes walking into therapy is one of the bravest things people can do, and finds it is a privilege to show up, lean in, and hear everyone's story. Recovery is hard, but so worth it.
