My name is Emily DeVries (she/her). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Apple Valley, California and I work with clients statewide via telehealth. My experience includes 7 years as a therapist, and over 13 years in the mental health field. I provide individual therapy to teens and adults experiencing a wide range of concerns and mental health challenges, including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, grief and loss, identity issues, improving healthy coping, trauma, and self-esteem. I aim to help my clients understand themselves better, accept their strengths and weaknesses, and move towards personal growth.
I am a person-centered and humanistic therapist. During sessions I aim to be empowering, affirming, open minded, and accepting to support you on your path towards healing and growing. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and can incorporate that modality into treatment when appropriate to address your personal goals.
One of the most important things to me as a therapist is building a supportive and trusting relationship. I aim for our sessions to be a place where you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences and work towards achieving healing and growth as well as achieving your goals.
