Being a kid can be really hard! Kids respond to trauma, stressors and the world around them in different ways, which can be confusing and stressful for the family system. The families I work with may be looking for relief from challenging behaviors, to feel more connected as a family, to move beyond trauma and stressors and to feel like their kid can be a kid. As a clinician I am client-centered, relational and playful. I aim to create a therapeutic space that feels safe, non-judgmental and engaging, where an individual can access their own innate resilience and capacity for healing.
My approach to therapy allows the child to lead the work, integrate their experiences and solidify their sense of self and felt sense of safety through play. I support caregivers by helping them understand their children and their behaviors in the context of their nervous systems and the environment and systems in which they are living.
