Emily is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who is passionate about recognizing the unique individuality of each person that she works with. Emily is originally from Virginia, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from George Mason University, and her Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010. Since graduating, she has worked in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, community mental health, detox, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient addiction treatment.
Emily values utilizing a strengths-based, holistic approach, often integrating aspects of positive and humanistic psychology, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Her main areas of focus are working with those questioning their relationship with alcohol and other substances, experiencing substance use disorders, as well as individuals experiencing generalized and social anxiety, depression, and life transitions.
