As an integrationist, I combine diverse approaches, including psychoanalysis and CBT and newer ones, like EMDR and IFS, and act as a leader in the field of psychotherapy integration.
First, I invite you to learn more about me and my work by visiting my website. If you think we may be a match, we can arrange a complimentary 15-minute consultation. I offer this because I believe entering psychotherapy can be one of the most important, life-altering decisions you ever make. Your decision to go into therapy probably was not easy, and the choice of a therapist deserves even greater consideration. You must, in addition to evaluating a therapist’s training and experience, find the right person. Success depends on a good “match” requiring empathy, trust, safety, and respect, sometimes spiced with humor and playfulness.

I use EMDR, one of the most effective ways of treating PTSD, trauma, and other adverse experiences.
My goal as a psychotherapist is to help you live a deliberate, self-actualized, and peaceful life. We all struggle with anxiety and depression at times. We push people away when we want them close, we act contrary to our best interest and don't know why. I can help illuminate patterns of behaviors and beliefs that impede your ability to reach your potential. Together, we can identify those invisible forces that drive your behavior and cause stagnation, pain, broken relationships, and missed opportunities. I take an anti-oppressive lens and provide space to explore the corrosive impact of external influences (ie: caste, race, gender)

I have extensive training in EMDR, Couples, CBT, and Positive Psychology.
My trainings and life experiences have shaped a unique therapeutic approach. Post Covid the challenges and anxieties we feel are profound. Psychotherapy is an invaluable journey; deepening the identification of personal strengths, greater self-awareness and self-reliance. It is important to examine recurring issues and patterns; understanding the narratives of trauma. Ultimately the goal is to achieve a greater sense of balance, joy and awareness. I am focused on crafting tools with my clients as a resource for them to draw upon. Beyond working with individuals, I have advanced training with couples.

As a therapist I focus on developing a greater sense of awareness and presence. I believe that we all want to be understood and accepted at a deep level. I respect your courage and time investment to be willing to look within and make uncomfortable changes. I work in collaborative way and strive to create a safe, accepting and caring environment that I hope is also challenging and insightful to my clients. committed to resolving unhealthy thinking, perceptions, and behaviors.

I'm a licensed psychoanalyst an and EMDRIA-certified EMDR practitioner.
You created the life you thought you were supposed to lead - checking off the boxes - and on paper it seemed that everything was going according to plan. Sure, you had some occasional doubts about if you were *really* happy, but brushed them aside. This all changed recently, when the carpet was pulled out from under you. Now you are grappling with anxiety and trauma, and also wondering about the meaning of the event itself, and how to get your life on a better track. We can work together to help you digest this, and grow from it.

Waitlist for new clients
Stephen Porges Safe and Sound protocol (therapeutic listening); Supervisory track for AEDP; AF-EMDR (Attachment Focused EMDR) certification in process.
The decision to enter therapy is courageous and important. Removing obstacles (such as anxiety and depression) that prevent well being and overall happiness, creating and enhancing relational experiences, coping with trauma, grief and loss or reaching professional goals are worthy and healthy desires. Whatever the precipitant to ones decision, we all have a need to be respected, heard, understood, and to feel safe, cared for and truly "gotten". It is both my belief and years of experience that tells me these conditions are necessary for long lasting, transformational change to occur. Together, we will actively work on helping you achieve your therapeutic goals

After receiving my graduate degree from the Silberman School of CUNY, I pursued intensive training at the institute for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral treatments and EMDR.
Have you wondered if your child or adolescent would benefit from therapy? I offer a complimentary consultation to discuss any questions you may have. I can help your child explore their feelings, make sense of their experience, and develop their full potential. I can help your child become their own therapist by learning techniques and coping strategies to learn how to deal with their challenges in their lives. I work well with children and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, social issues, learning issues, attention deficit disorder, and body image issues. Clients often see improved well-being early on in therapy.

You stand at the vanguard of what changes you wish to see. The partnership we form together will always be supportive. I do not take insurance, but have a sliding scale and a complimentary 20 minute intake to discuss our possibilities for working together.

The success of my approach is built upon a solid foundation of classical psychoanalytic training and the sensitive use of various other healing modalities I have mastered over time (EMDR, Mindfulness, energy healing).
"Our work-together can open doors". With my empathy, wisdom and knowledge, I can aspire and inspire change in you who are eagerly seeking and waiting. As a Psychotherapist, I am, first of all, an ally who provide support and a safe space to be. Then we go on a journey together: from an unawareness of the self, from superficial goals and aims towards an understanding of your individuality and to a state of centeredness-unified, integrated self.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
