I draw from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and experiential mind-body methods, including dream analysis, guided imagery, Mindfulness, and EMDR tailored to your needs.
With 22 years of experience I join you in a collaborative process to explore and resolve the obstacles to your growth and healing. I work with adults who want to improve their relationships, manage professional conflicts, come to grips with panic and anxiety, and build self confidence. I ask simple questions to open new avenues of thought and overcome self-defeating behaviors that may be rooted in the past. This self reflection organically builds stronger coping skills for transformative change and greater fulfillment.

I'm trained as a relational psychoanalyst and am also a certified EMDR practitioner.
I have over 30 years of experience working with adults, children and families, and an ongoing passion and engagement in the art of psychotherapy. When the fit is right, a good therapeutic relationship can provide a powerful vehicle for healing and transformation. I think for therapy to really gel, you need to feel that your therapist gets you, perhaps in a way few others have. Adults I work with often tell me they have that experience with me, that they feel fully seen and understood. My work with children began in my earliest days as a therapist - and it continues to be a central part of my practice.

My skills come from significant training in: Relational psychoanalytic therapy, Trauma focused modalities informed by brain research (incl EMDR, IFS and other somatic interventions), Family systems, Couples therapy, Mindfulness and CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy).
Regardless of what you are dealing with, I believe in the potential to harness your inner resources to heal and grow. Connecting deeply with the right therapist can help you get to where you want to be. When you become more aware of what is going on consciously and unconsciously in your mind and body, you can be more effectual, less anxious and/or depressed, and have more energy and joy in your life. As I get to know you and we create a safe and meaningful relationship, we can make fundamental changes that will have a lasting effect.

I am trained in DBT, play therapy and EMDR.
As a provider, my goal is to create a safe space to allow children, teens and young adults, the opportunity to be open to the therapy process. Trusting that therapy is a learning experience and trust that you'll be guided during this journey. With understanding that this journey may not always be easy, parents will be given the space to express their concerns, and learn tools, to assist with their child.

To use therapy jargon, I'm trained in a technique called "EMDR" for trauma, "psychodynamic therapy," "narrative therapy," as well as in issues relating to IVF, fertility, and pregnancy.
Has your anxiety become hard to manage, affecting your sleep and draining life of joy? Do you do everything yourself to avoid asking for help and being vulnerable? Are you managing feelings of overwhelm? If so, you’re in the right place. I’m Seta, and I specialize in working with professional women balancing family and careers, and dealing with anxiety and overwhelm. I’m trained to notice patterns that may be hindering you, and to help you untangle feelings to find clarity. Together we can put to rest past traumas, reduce anxiety, and increase joy.

I draw on experiential, relational, narrative, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and EMDR approaches to address issues like anxiety, depression, relationship/family problems, identity issues, or the struggle to find a a sense of purpose.
In my eyes, one of the most powerful aspects of therapy is the relationship that forms between the therapist and the client. The process of establishing a safe and supportive partnership makes room for us to collaborate on rewarding emotional work. My goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and supported along your journey of self-discovery, and to help you find resilience, authenticity, healing, and self-love. My approach begins with warmth and having an open-mind. I am here to help guide you towards the goals that you set for yourself.

EMDR offers hope.
You need help — and a lot of it — right now, and 45-minutes of therapy once a week doesn’t feel intensive enough. Feeling stuck in past trauma and sick of it running your life, maybe you’re crunched on time, too, with a busy schedule and thousands of demands pulling you every which way. Or you’re already working with a therapist weekly, and want to use EMDR as a brief adjunct to accelerate that work. Let’s embark on a focused journey designed to help you feel better, fast.

I am trained in using CBT, EMDR, and other evidence-based approaches to help people make lasting changes to their self-image that lead to real changes in their lives. My approach is hands on, goal-oriented, strengths based, and gender/identity affirming. I help clients challenge unrealistic patterns of thinking, deconstruct who they are from who they have learned to be, learn how to feel safe and regulated in their body, identify options for difficult life situations that align with their values, and learn the skills to meet their needs e.g. assertiveness, boundary setting, communication, mindfulness, relaxation and grounding.

In addition to EMDR, I also offer ketamine assisted therapy when appropriate.
Everyone possesses the innate wisdom and ability to heal, grow, and change. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space for introspection and emotional processing, allowing us to better understand ourselves with curiosity and compassion. By gaining insight into our behaviors and patterns, we can use this understanding to guide us toward healthier choices and new directions.

I use a range of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness-Based, Trauma (EMDR) and Solution- Focused Therapy to help my clients work through their challenges and achieve their goals.
Therapy is a powerful tool for reflection and change. Whether working with children, teens, or adults, my approach is collaborative and goal-oriented. Sometimes we become stuck in painful or unsatisfying ways of being and need a safe space to learn about ourselves, heal, and grow. Issues I commonly work with include behavioral concerns, relationships, life transitions, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I work with clients to understand the impact of past experiences on the present, but also focus on the here-and-now in session and incorporate breathing and meditation practices to cope with everyday stress.

Among other modalities, I integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Nature-Based Therapy in my work with clients.
I approach my work with clients from a deep conviction that all people have the ability to elicit lasting change, find internal calm, and make more skillful decisions if given the right tools. I believe in the ability of each of us to shift our perceived setbacks and struggles into opportunities for growth and learning. I see my role with clients as a non-judgmental witness, curious co-collaborator, and vessel for authenticity.

I want to commend you for taking the first step of looking for counseling services. Reaching out for help is not an easy task, it takes a lot of self-awareness and courage. Coming to therapy can be nerve-racking, so it is my goal to create a space for you to feel safe, where you can be brave to be your authentic self. Life is tough, you are tougher, and together we can practice ways to overcome a variety of life's difficult challenges. Our sessions together will be tailored specifically to you, your needs, and your goals. While people can experience similar life challenges, therapy is not a one-size-fits all solution.

That's why I am trained in EMDR, the most well-known approach, and I also utilize other transformational trauma therapies, such as Flash EMDR (a gentler, shorter version), Internal Family Systems (IFS, parts work, inner child healing), and Somatic Healing.
Are you carrying the weight of complex trauma, past childhood abuse, or narcissistic abuse? If you are, please know that you don't have to bear this burden alone. I understand the long-lasting effects that these forms of abuse can have on your life, and I want to help you heal. My name is Jessica, I am a therapist who holds a master's degree in counseling. I am EMDR trained, and I have five of experience working with trauma survivors. I am deeply committed to helping survivors of trauma find inner peace and reclaim their lives. I believe that the best way to heal from the past is through transformational trauma therapy.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
