TRAINED EMDR THERAPIST: EMDR has been scientifically proven to be 2X as effective in 1/2 the time of standard psychotherapy treatments.
My approach to healing is based upon a non-invasive experience rather than prolonged processes, which incorporates EMDR, Guided Imagery, and traditional psychotherapy. Each session provides an atmosphere for nurturing, heart-opening, and confidentiality that will help you successfully achieve your goals in less time than talk therapy. The outcome of this success will help you feel less anxious, sad, fearful, stuck and/or enhance your confidence, ability to perform, love openly, commit when you want/let go when you want, be fully present and connected in whatever you do.

I am trained in Level 1 EMDR, Level 1 and 2 Gottman Couples Therapy, & DBT Methods.
Are you struggling with relationship issues or a life transition? Feeling anxious or depressed? I offer therapy in a safe, warm, non-judgemental environment. There are so many influences in this world that shape the way we think about ourselves and others. Sometimes our thinking has become so negative that it is hard to see our situation as hopeful or positive. I see therapy as a collaborative effort between the therapist and the client. No matter what you are struggling with, I can help you make a fresh start and renew your thinking, and make positive changes!

I utilize CBT, EMDR assertiveness training, mindfulness and behavioral approaches to address clients’ patterns of thinking and behavior rather than their external situation, allowing the clients to dictate the specific issues to be addressed; positively reinforcing experiences and reduce avoidant patterns; help clients express their needs and wants clearly.
Maternal and reproductive health, shame, grief, avoidance, overwhelm, flashbacks, relationship issues, transitions, worry, career work stress, sadness, immigrant experiences, self-doubt and trauma are some of the things I support individuals through. We'll process the psychological stress caused by interactions with people, places and systems that are demeaning, hostile, dismissive and insensitive. My clients are able to improve or better manage distress tolerance; improve communication and relationships; develop assertiveness and autonomy; address family-of-origin challenges; adjust to life transitions; resolve trauma and more.

I have used Psychodynamics, EFT, CBT, EMDR, and Attachment Theory.
Experiencing a heavy heart of pain from a small or sizeable traumatic experience can keep one from receiving a life of joy. So many times, we desire to lay that burden down, but we are unsure how to free ourselves from the hurt. Hope is available. There is a process that can help anyone ready for a change. My clients say they experience me as non-judgmental and caring while they process their painful places. I have a way of understanding and helping them to find answers to their hurts in an environment where they feel safe, so they can bring their concerns into a therapy session and gain healing.

With specialized training in EMDR and CBT, I bring a wealth of experience and a range of therapeutic tools to our sessions, but it's the connection between us that truly fosters healing and growth.
I’m glad we’ve found each other. My name is Arianne and I've been partnering with individuals for 12 years, navigating the challenges, celebrating the victories, and working towards the life each person hopes for themselves. When life becomes too much to handle, you might know what you need to do logically to make things better, but actually starting can feel scary. When you're stuck in a loop of negative thoughts and bad habits, it's hard to shake off the guilt and move forward. You understand your struggles and story better than anyone else and I'm here to work alongside you to restore your calm.

Together, we will connect you to your body and explore your authentic self through EMDR, somatic therapy, parts work, and strengths-based therapy.
Are you struggling with trauma? You might feel anxious, disconnected from your body, feeling the need to constantly distract yourself, or not feeling like yourself. This may be in response to a bigger life event, loss, life transitions, or something you’ve been unable to access. Sometimes, our responses are connected to childhood trauma, religious trauma, work trauma, or from past relationships. You may also question if your responses are connected to trauma at all. You want to live a life where it feels good to be present with yourself and in relationships. Where you can be authentically yourself.

Do you feel life is spiraling out of control? Or you have to be everything to everyone else but feel alone when you’re in need? Are you having trouble meeting expectations? Or saying “No" then resenting saying yes? Do you put everyone before you and then don't have enough time for you or your dreams? Are you feeling “stuck” after giving so much, then to realize you’re not making progress in your life? More often than we realize, we tend to lose ourselves giving what we don’t have while trying to manage it all; parenthood, relationships, careers, and life situations. We then become overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or stuck.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
