Since online therapy is proven to be equally as effective as in person treatment for depression, anxiety and PTSD, I am confident we can build skills, use EMDR, or classic CBT to get you feeling better.
Currently unavailable for new clients as I have a planned vacation 4/25-5/8/24. As human beings, we have feelings, we have struggles and crave understanding and connection. As a therapist, I want to help you explore your inner most struggles and to find healing. I believe you are resourceful and resilient person and my passion is to help you discover and utilize this to find relief from your symptoms. We can begin to find ways to enhance the strengths you already have. I don't have the answers for you, but I can help you uncover the answers within yourself. I believe unconditional positive regard and compassion can go a long way.

Every individual's journey through trauma is unique, and as such, I tailor my approach, with modalities like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and DBT.
I am deeply committed to guiding individuals through the process of healing and reclaiming their lives. Many of my clients experience depression, anxiety, dissociation, and difficulties with emotional regulation. My journey into the field of therapy began with a profound fascination for the resilience of the human spirit and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those who have experienced difficult life events. It is my hope that together, we can build a foundation for healing, growth, and a renewed sense of hope.

I am certified in EMDR and TF-CBT, both trauma therapy techniques.
Counseling can be intimidating, but I want to foster a safe, compassionate, and empathetic place where you can talk about the things you don’t know how to talk about. As a therapist, I seek to create a space for your true self to shine through as we work together to confront the challenges, insecurities, and past traumas you carry, and to ultimately find healing. At this stage as you consider therapy and seek to find the right fit, I want to encourage you by simply saying that you are enough. You do not have to be more than who you are. And who you are is worthy of love, of care, and of mental and emotional health.

My combination of training in EMDR, DBT, and CBT in addition to my deep Christian faith have enabled me to treat clients holistically and wade through the presenting behaviors to address the struggles beneath.
As I once desperately needed a trustworthy therapist to navigate the most difficult seasons of my life, my dream career has been fulfilled by being that person for others. My experience began by treating eating disorders in inpatient, residential and partial hospitalization, where I observed the devastation eating disorders cause - and that it's about so much more than food and weight. Now in outpatient, I especially love treating disordered eating and body image struggles! Since my Christian faith was a central piece of my own recovery, I incorporate it into my work with clients whenever they prefer it.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
