I also offer EMDR, biofeedback, and TF-CBT.
No one is broken. What does it mean to be you? What are your heart’s secret longings? What are the heavy parts you carry in your body and the hopes that you have yet to speak aloud? Healing is not linear. Let us explore the winding path that is you: in the memories of your past, in your experience of the present, and in the possibilities of the future. I am a transgender-identified therapist who specializes in work with LGBTQ+ people and their loved ones. In addition, I work with trauma survivors, people who have experienced othering, and people in life transitions.

I have a strong background, Internal Family Systems Certified, EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
I believe in empowering people to reach their full potential by providing services that are strengths-based, practical, holistic, and focused on promoting long lasting change. I work using a style of fostering trust and authenticity, starting where people want and ending when people feel their life and issues have changed and their happiness enhanced. I believe the relationship in counseling is the core issue in treatment. This is particularly important in working with children and adolescents where no work could be done without building a warm, honest, and caring connection. I believe healing comes through the mind, body, spirit connection.

I offer psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, EMDR, DBT, CBT, Narrative and trauma focused therapy to help you heal.
I offer therapy to relieve anxiety and depression and discover the underlying causes. I also specialize in trauma and PTSD. If you've seen other therapists without results, it may be because you've only participated in talk or cognitive therapy. I've found that deeply ingrained beliefs and coping mechanisms that develop when we're young are often responsible for dysfunction or repeated negative emotions later in life. I offer therapy to help you discover the reasons for triggers and patterns of behavior and how to change them. Unfortunately, I do not take insurance.

Destiny specializes in the treatment of trauma, eating disorders, psychedelic integration, and challenges relating to veganism/vystopia utilizing a variety of modalities such as Dialectical behavioral therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, Nature-based therapy, EMDR, Transpersonal psychology, Mindfulness, Client-centered therapy, and Cognitive behavioral therapy.
We are living through challenging times and many of us are becoming aware of the things in our lives that aren’t working for us any longer. Some of us may be impacted by old wounds that never had the chance to fully heal; some of us are realizing we aren’t living our lives in a way that aligns with how we want to live. We believe that every person has the capacity to heal and live a life of meaning and positive well-being but that often, many of us do not have the support or skills that we need to make changes in our lives.

I have especially focused in trauma work, including EMDR which has transformed the lens in which my clients view their situations or become better suited to overcome barriers.
As an Asian American therapist, I have the unique perspective that comes with the BIPOC community and I take pride in creating a safe and judgement free environment. My "ideal" client would be someone who is willing to get out of their comfort zone to gain the life they want to enjoy and love. A client who is open, honest, and willing to ask for help. I get excited when clients talk to me about the changes they want to make in their life and It excites me to see the possibility of change! Come as you are and we will navigate the rest together.

Using such modalities as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), EFT (Energy Freedom Therapy), hypnotherapy and conventional therapy techniques, the intensity of emotion is diffused and new positive beliefs are established.
A DYNAMIC APPROACH TO INNER CHANGE - By combining conventional therapy with different modalities of working with the subconscious, I offer resources for those situations where you have previously done therapy without feeling much movement or change. Because the subconscious is in control 95% of the time, I offer a different approach to work through issues much faster. My experience has been that it does not need to take a long time to heal if given the right resources. If you desire change and create a more peaceful life, call and we can set up a consultation at no charge or obligation.

Complicated relationships or past abuse can leave us feeling anxious, depressed, and unsure of ourselves. You might be fed up with feeling on-edge, stuck, or like your past is interfering with your life today. You might feel guilty that you're not able to show up for your friends, family, or significant other the way you'd like. You might not even remember a time when things didn’t feel this way. But a few things are certain: you’re ready for things to change. You’re ready to heal. And most of all: you’re ready to enjoy your relationships and your life.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
