The best therapy comes from conversation. We talk to build a relationship, and that does most of the work. We will begin with awareness. What are you doing and how did you learn it that way? From there we will use anything that emerges between us – stories, humor, music, movies, or whatever we deem helpful for your goals. You might also learn more about me than expected. I must continuely cultivate what makes me tick to be your guide – I won’t ask you to go anywhere I won’t go. And I will strive to help you feel heard and understood, which can do the rest of the work. My whole person is the technique, and we are in this together.
I have over fifteen years of experience and study in counseling youth, families, groups, and especially adults suffering from the most dibiltating and serious mental illnesses. We are in an age of anxiety, addiction, and depression, and I have a record of specialized help in these areas.
I'm a mobile mental health counselor, so I provide two-hour therapy in your home or out in the community. Some folks like to meet at home, others at the park or a quiet coffee shop - whatever it takes to meet you where you are. Once contacted, I usually follow up with text arrangements for a shorter first free meeting, and we go from there.
