Seeking a therapist for yourself, your child, your spouse, a friend or loved one is often difficult. I can appreciate that and I work to create a warm, comfortable environment where my clients can focus on themselves and make the needed changes in their lives in order to live more happily. I work with adults, "tweens", adolescents, couples and families. I have a background in the cognitive-behavioral approach as well as family systems theory but tailor my approach to the needs of the client I am working with.
Whether you are a parent worried about your teen that is cutting or you are a couple trying to increase effective communication or you are an adult immobilized by depression or anxiety I can offer support and understanding as well as teach you techniques to get you on the road to a happier life.
I have been practicing therapy for over 24 years and have worked in many private non-profit agencies in the area as well as for San Mateo County Mental Health. I have extensive experience working with adolescents in residential care facilities as well as in the juvenile justice system.
