I specialize in working with trauma, grief, self-worth, and communication. My therapeutic style is warm and accepting. Even though therapy can be intense, I tend towards levity and see joy and humor as a critical part of my work. My Alaskan wilderness upbringing has given me confidence in everyone's capacity for self-sufficiency and resilience, and years of work internationally and with Tribes have instilled a deep admiration and acceptance for diverse life experiences.
I believe there is a strong connection between our physical and mental states. I have a Rolfing SI practice, a form of bodywork that helps reduce pain and increase embodiment. When appropriate, I will help you make stronger connections in your own body through mindfulness and grounding techniques in order to regulate your nervous system's response to stress.
I have an extensive history of working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as individuals struggling with mental illness.
