Ellen S Katz
Marriage & Family Therapist, MS, LMFT
I've always sought mentors to guide me through life's trials, and luckily found many along the way. Now I pass on the sum of their wisdom along with my own. Therapy, a process of healing, happens through shared presence and expanding awareness. It's a safe place where truth can be expressed and pain transformed. We typically cope with pain through distraction, intoxication or denial. Learning to be emotionally sober we can heal our relationships - with ourselves and others. "Process" addictions, loss, trauma and shame are respectfully addressed. Empowerment, clarity, healing and comfort with emotional intimacy are consequences.
My training includes cognitive/behavioral, music therapy, hypnotherapy, voice dialogue, reiki, meditation and yoga. I'm certified in Holographic Memory Resolution* and the Lifeline** Technique, both powerful tools for healing trauma and addiction. I also integrate multi-cultural traditional wisdom in the therapeutic process, including East-Indian & Native American.
We only know what we've been taught. Through therapy we can develop a sense of internal connection, integrity, awareness and wisdom. We can become skilled communicators with sensitivity, consciousness and confidence. This life-enhancing process involves integration of selves, mindful presence and ultimately, the recognition that we have choices.
