I specialize in Behavioral Medicine interventions that promote physical and psychological health by addressing the mind-body connection. Depression and anxiety do not simply exist in our heads, they reside in our bodies as well. I teach people how to heal themselves using techniques derived from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness approaches, and positive psychology. Many of my clients have chronic health problems that include heart disease, cancer, neurological disorders, and autoimmune disease. Healing is possible, and we all have the inherent capacity to help ourselves feel better.
During the COVID crisis I offer short-term problem focused therapy that consists of 10-12 sessions where clients concentrate on a single issue, e.g. anxiety, and they do weekly homework that allows them to cultivate coping skills that help them manage their issue.
