I am passionate about my work and strongly believe that a safe, collaborative and caring therapeutic relationship is essential to effective therapy and can provide a fruitful foundation for healing and growth. I am intensively-trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), an evidence-based practice, rooted in both cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based treatments. DBT has proven to be a highly effective treatment for behaviors stemming from high levels of emotional dysregulation, such as self-harm, binge eating, bulimia, depression, anxiety, anger management and other relational issues.
Before being in private practice, I worked in both hospital and school settings, as well as in Battered Women's Services. I received my MSW from Fordham University. I run DBT Skills Groups for the acquisition of mindfulness-based coping skills to help achieve one's emotional goals.
