I am passionate about working with issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders and adolescents and their families. I strongly believe that a safe, collaborative and caring therapeutic relationship is essential to effective therapy and can provide a foundation for healing and growth. Drawing from relational, cognitive-behavioral, insight-oriented and family systems models, my approach is always tailored to individual client needs. I am intensively-trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT),an evidence-based practice, successful with eating disorders and other self-injurious behavior and am part of one of the few intensively-trained teams in Northern NJ.
Before being in private practice, I worked in both hospital and school settings, as well as in Battered Women's Services. I received my MSW from Fordham University. I make school-based presentations on eating disorders and relational aggression between adolescent girls and run issues groups for teenage girls.
I am a member of the NJ Eating Disorders Association, where I run monthly groups for ED clients and families. I am also a member of the American Assoc for Marital and Family Therapists, and the National Association of Social Workers, where I have contributed articles to their consumer website regarding the treatment of depression.
