Counseling provides the opportunity for growth and self-discovery in the context of a safe, supportive, and therapeutic relationship. My therapeutic orientation draws on several counseling theories. Together the client and I work to identify thoughts and beliefs that may impact feelings, as well as deepen their understanding of choices they make and patterns in their life. Basic to my approach is a respect for a person and his or her ability to grow and change. I believe people possess a desire to heal and grow.
I have worked in the behavior health field for over 20 years. My experience and training includes working with adults, adolescents, and children seeking individual or group counseling in a community mental health or home based setting. My formal education prepared me to counsel individual adolescents, adults, groups and couples.
I have experience working with Trauma and use EMDR to help heal the injury and move the client forwards towards their life goals.
