I earned my Master of Health Science degree from the University of Florida in Rehabilitation Counseling. I was first licensed as a counselor in Florida in 2001. Now I am licensed as a counselor in four states: New Hampshire, Florida, Iowa, and Louisiana. I have over 20 years of experience. I have provided therapy in the following settings: community mental health, school, corrections, intensive outpatient program, partial hospitalization program, and vocational rehabilitation.
With a kind, compassionate, and down-to-earth approach, I will help you develop goals to accomplish in therapy. I have assisted many individuals with developing tools to cope when life becomes overwhelming. I believe that everyone already has the tools inside them to resolve their concerns, and a counselor can assist to coax these skills out.
My communication style is very open-minded, warm, and affirming. The first session will be all about rapport building. I will get to know you, and this is the trust-building phase. You will not feel comfortable sharing your issues until you feel you can trust me.
