About
I have been a clinical psychologist for over 30 years. I help people with a wide range of human difficulties: depression, anxiety, fear, eating disorders, trauma and the ordinary changes in life's journey. As a seasoned therapist I use an integrated approach, blending several theoretical frameworkds and techniques. Some people come to therapy to know themselves better; others because they are deeply troubled by life's circumstances or inner demons. My job is to help people create the changes they want, and, in the process, undo the shame they often carry into their struggles.
New therapies have introduced powerful new tools for resolving trauma.Trained in EMDR and Somatic Expeiencing I have learned psychotherapeutic approaches to mind-body balance that help restore ones sense of safety after accidents, abuse, or struggles with self-destructive patterns of behavior.
I pride myself on being both traditionally trained and also open to new approaches to therapy. In all the work I do, I look to make clients feel comfortable, respected and safe. Therapy needs to be a safe harbor.
