Hello, I am Liz Walker, a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, and believe early events create the blueprint for our adult behaviors and influence one's decisions. Trauma-based events lead to trauma response strategies in adulthood, but awareness can put us on the road to change. I often work with clients that have experienced various levels of trauma. I am comfortable with clients that also question where to go from here, how societal norms infringe on their self-expression, and why their relationships are mostly similar.
My studies included in developmental psychology support my modalities of psychodynamic and attachment theory-based therapy. I provide a secure base for clients where they can re-evaluate their next steps. I hope to have clients feel accepted and comfortable. My goal is to hold a safe place and for clients to then experience feelings of safety in the world.
I became a therapist to provide folx with the tools to build a secure & safe world themselves. I have endured many of the pitfalls that prevent this mindset, and know the value of liberation firsthand.
