As the owner of Associates in Counseling & Wellness, LLC, I have had extensive experience treating adults and children, couples and families struggling with various mental health and developmental conditions. I have specific training in both cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy, however, I believe completely in meeting the needs of each specific client and therefore utilize eclectic techniques to enhance the strengths of each individual. I believe in the inherent stength that each individual embodies and therefore use therapy as a place to enhance the inner experience of each client from a wholistic perspective.
I have been trained clinically at the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals in Cleveland, and Western Psychiatric. I am a full time faculty member in the Graduate School at Waynesburg University. I present yearly at national conferences and am published in several texts regarding trauma. Currently, I am writing a diagnostic casebook for Springer Publishing.
I have spent a majority of my training working across the lifespan and within family systems. I have specific training in addiction, eating disorders, trauma, self- esteem, and mood disorders. Groups
DBT skills group for Adolescents
Associates in Counseling & Wellness, LLC is offering a group therapy program for adolescents interested in improving skills to cope and deal with peer relationships & self esteem. This skills / process group will address four key areas for adolescents that include managing stressful situations without impulsivity, forming positive relationships with peers, setting appropriate boundaries, and managing their emotions. The entire focus of the program is to help adolescents deal with this stressful time in their lives and develop healthy levels of self esteem and overall self worth. Trained therapists will facilitate the group and it will meet 1x/week for 6 weeks.
