Therapy is an invitation to begin where you are, just as you are. My first goal is to listen well and to begin to understand you. While my training includes many therapeutic approaches informed by research, I see therapy most of all as a creative process that unfolds within a genuine relationship. I believe that good therapy is flexible and responsive - it can be gentle and compassionate, direct and challenging, and sometimes even very funny.
I work with depression, anxiety, grief, and life changes. I specialize in trauma treatment. With extensive experience in both DBT and EMDR, I value both skills-based and experiential approaches. While traditional talk therapy can be helpful for many, the most powerful moments in therapy often go beyond words and offer a new experience of what is possible.
The choice of a therapist is an important decision. I would be glad to talk with you about your specific concerns and what you are seeking through therapy. Give me a call or send me an email. My approach is to listen and give honest feedback from the first conversation.
