As a licensed mental health counselor and registered art therapist, my work involves the interplay of talk therapy and the use of visual art for expression and reflection. I am dedicated to using creative expression to promote mental health and personal growth. I adapt a person-centered approach, focusing on the unique needs, strengths and potentials of clients to support them in exploring their inner selves and developing healthy strategies to achieve therapeutic goals within the areas of mental health, social-emotional skills and overall well being.
Please note: Art therapy is suitable for individuals of all ages and no special artistic talent is required, only a willingness to use art materials in an exploratory way. The focus is not on the aesthetics of the end product, but rather on the whole process of creation. Creative engagement can be therapeutic and healing.
For individuals who may feel uncomfortable with the artmaking process, I also provide traditional talk therapy.
