Have you experienced significant life events that have left deep emotional scars, such as abuse, loss, or violence? Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or attachment difficulties in relationships? Do you often struggle with trust, self-esteem, and feelings of helplessness? My name is Liz Mederos. I am an Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in Texas. I specialize in guiding adults and teens through the complexities of trauma, addiction, relationship attachment issues, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and PTSD.
Working with me, you will notice that I create a safe and supportive environment where you can express feelings and share your experiences without judgment. I will help you learn new strategies to manage symptoms, develop a deeper understanding, and heal from traumatic events. I utilize empirically proven treatment modalities such as EMDR, CBT, and SFBT.
The healing journey is about transformation, resilience, and finding hope amidst the pain. You are the expert of your experiences. I aim to help you recognize that your experiences may have led you to develop misconceptions about yourself, others, and the world. Let's envision a future where your past no longer dictates your present. Together, we can heal.

I often use EMDR or CBT in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy. We will explore the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With EMDR, we identify how past experiences impact you today. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. We will challenge negative beliefs, integrate positive beliefs & promote healing.
