About
I strive to make my clients feel safe, comfortable, heard, and understood from our first session. I believe the connection between therapist and client is essential to emotional growth and change and to establishing a relationship with trust, warmth, honesty, and mutual respect. I help my clients to use their strengths to solve here- and- now problems. I also help to address more entrenched issues that are negatively affecting the ability to feel happy and to reach goals. My style is holistic, interactive and down-to-earth, and I focus on emphasizing the positive towards reaching goals.
I have extensive background in working with individuals and couples with relationship issues; employment problems; depression and anxiety; low self-esteem; communication difficulties; trauma; bereavement; life transitions; domestic abuse; childhood history of sexual abuse and/or incest; menopause, aging-related issues for both men and women; and caregiver role stress.
I also have experience counseling immigrant families and assist with transitioning to a new country, inter-generational conflict, bridging the gap between respecting traditional norms while adapting to American culture, and supporting immigration cases with clinical documentation. If you think we would be a good fit, please give me a call.
