I provide psychotherapy, consultation and referral services for adults, and play therapy for children. Anxiety and depression impact most people at some point in their lives. In my work with patients, I strive to listen deeply. In my experience, being truly listened to is rare, and helps a lot. Being with someone who strives to understand you without judgment increases a capacity to feel more love and satisfaction. I know that disturbing thoughts, feelings and behaviors have meaning. When these meanings can be understood, life starts to feel better. This work can help you to begin to heal, but it is a process.
Psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy is uniquely geared toward listening more deeply into the conflicts you feel inside. I strive to remain open to learning about myself in every therapeutic encounter, and you are an essential teacher in that. When we sit together, our developing relationship becomes a means of understanding you.
