I believe children have an innate ability to grow in a positive direction. The child-therapist relationship is the element that encourages healing, where the child feels safe, supported, and is able to make those changes that lead to growth through exploring self (experiences, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors). When we meet a child's need, rather than focus on the behavior, we begin to deal with the cause, not the symptom. I focus on possibilities, strengths, and value differences through direct and indirect practices.
I offer talk therapy and play therapy to neuro typical and neuro divergent children with anxiety, confidence, grief, anger, relationship struggles, and trauma. I offer support and understanding through the therapeutic power of play-where the toys are words and play is language, using toys, art, games, and media.
It's sometimes difficult to understand our thoughts, feelings, and actions. Knowing how to process experiences and learning coping strategies can lead to feeling better about what was once a struggle.

Social/Relationship Skills
I will start a group for counseling kids on the topic of relationship/social skills on Tues. September 5, 2023 at 6pm for six weeks. Ages 7-12, 10 person maximum for group.
