About
I have operated my own private practice since 1991 and have almost 30 years of experience working in a wide variety of mental health settings. My approach works to eliminate symptoms that can interfere with living a life that is worth celebrating. All of my work is grounded in neuroscience principles, developmental theories, attachment theory, and polyvagal theory. I am also trained in attachment-based therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, family-systems theory, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness.
My specialty is couples therapy, however, I also provide therapy for individual adults. I am trained in 4 couples therapy models/approaches: Gottman, Developmental model, Psycho biological approach to couples therapy (PACT) and by the Institute for Relational Intimacy
I am committed to staying on-top of the latest mental health research. My treatment approach focuses on the interface of biological, psychological, and social factors and their influence on our lives. Accordingly, I utilize integration, whereby I combine traditional 'top down' approaches like talk therapy with 'bottom up' approaches like mindfulness.
