I am personally and professionally familiar with geek and gaming culture, and believe these experiences and identities have a place in a successful therapeutic relationship. Further, I have experience working with lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals, and all members of the LGBTQ+ community are welcome clients. I believe in the power of community that is built on shared values and experiences. If you identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ and/or gaming communities and would like to explore these identities as part of your therapy experience, or you would simply prefer a therapist within these communities, we may be a good fit.
Therapy is a collaborative process between client and therapist. I leverage my training in cognitive behavioral modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in partnership with my clients to identify your values and take active steps towards change.
I believe in the integration of social justice in therapy, and work to recognize and acknowledge the impacts of diversity, privilege, discrimination, and culture on an individual’s experience. When setting treatment goals and exploring values, the impact of an individual’s identities and the intersections of those identities are always considered.
