Transitions can create disconnect and emotional distress. Becoming a parent can be especially challenging. We may feel overwhelmed, burned out, or just struggling to find joy. Our relationships may suffer, creating feelings of isolation and loneliness. Interrupted sleep and added stress make it hard to engage in daily life. We may carry guilt or shame as we struggle to fulfill the needs of those we love, leaving our own needs unmet. The transition to parenting young children may also mark a shift in identity, struggling to define who we are and "how to remain me." Being a parent does not have to be so hard — relief is in reach.
As a parent and therapist I understand this journey. Compassionately and collaboratively we will work together to restore meaning, joy, and balance to your life. Processing emotions in an accepting space alleviates distress. Overall, a greater connection to self and loved ones can be achieved, leaving you the person, partner, and parent you want to be.
I have clinical and lived experience in supporting people across the lifespan, including young children to adults. Helping clients through transitional times is my passion— especially shifts in relationships and those new to parenthood.
