About
I earned my B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Washington in Seattle and my master’s degree in Social Work from New York University in Manhattan, New York. My background prior to private practice comprised diverse settings such as hospital social work, community mental health, and working within the New York City Public Schools. For 5 years I was a family and individual therapist on the Compass Unit for Young Adults at The Menninger Clinic. For the past 3 years I have been the Director of The Eating Disorder Service.
I have extensive experience working with eating disorders and body image issues. I also have specialized experience providing family therapy and working with personality disorders.
I work to create a secure sense of self and a healthy relationship. I tailor the therapy to the unique needs of each client and I strive to create a safe environment in which to explore life stressors, patterns of relating with others, and how past experiences impact the present.
