About
Psychotherapy helps people face what is difficult in their lives. Beyond providing relief and support, growth in therapy leads to increased agency and purpose, more satisfying relationships, and to greater spontaneity and flexibility. I see people with complex histories who present with anxiety, depression, and relationship problems. I am engaged, committed and practical in my approach to helping people. I continue to train in experiential dynamic therapy models, which help clients access emotions and outgrow longstanding and broken coping strategies. These models include AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples) and ISTDP (Intensive Short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy).
I am a certified EFT couples therapist. Based on adult attachment research, EFT helps couples recognize their individual roles in a negative cycle that has overtaken the relationship. Processing emotions that fuel the cycle helps empathy develop: Couples learn things about each other at an emotional level they may not have understood or experienced before.
I also work with couples who are ambivalent about whether to divorce, with couples remarrying, and with engaged couples who seek premarital counseling. When relationships have already moved to separation and divorce, I help individuals and couples navigate this painful, scary process. **My practice is currently full**
