I specialize in sex-positive, trauma-focused therapy with a particular commitment to serving women and the LGBTQ+ community. Whether childhood abuse, parental rejection, religious alienation, discrimination, sexual assault, etc., the types of pain we experience are often interpersonal and related to our identities. Trauma impacts our physical and mental health, relationships, and sex lives. Anxiety, depression, ADHD, and chronic illness are connected to traumatic distress. Trauma also compromises our ability to feel safe in relationships. As a result, we can struggle with shame, trust, self-worth, co-dependency, intimacy, etc.
We are hurt in relationships, and we are healed in relationships. I help people explore how past relational wounds are showing up in the present. In the therapy, we practice emotional regulation, building trust, communication, and rupture and repair —skills that can help ease the impacts of trauma and create blueprints for healthier relationships.
If any of this resonates, let's talk. You are not alone. I am a queer therapist with 20+ years of experience. I am also a faculty member who trains and supervises other therapists. This is an inclusive practice committed to affirming, anti-oppressive counseling for people of all genders, sexualities, and relationship structures.
