I value building a supportive alliance based on honesty and frank communication. My approach is psychodynamic integrated with cognitive behavioral, body based, emotionally focused and mindfulness approaches. We talk together to find out what works best for you. I am well suited to working with trauma victims, couples and families, and those with an interest in the bodymind perspective. Years spent living abroad inspired an interest in cross cultural dynamics and diversity.
Using EMDR and somatic psychotherapies, I have successfully assisted victims of accidents, disasters, sexual and physical assault and traumatic childhoods. Having trained at accredited family therapy institutes, I aim to see all sides of the conflict, to create safety and to restore love, meaning and stability in couples and families.
Thirty-five years of experience in somatic modalities informs my approach. I teach meditation, breathing, relaxation and other techniques with the aim of feeling more embodied, calm and better able to cope. Of particular interest is a body-based mindfulness psychotherapy model called Hakomi. I look forward to hearing from you.
