While you can't always avoid the challenges that arise in your life, you do have choices about how you address them. My approach draws from the idea that there is much to learn from these struggles, and that by decreasing the self-criticism and shame that make it hard for you to face yourself, you can create opportunities to see yourself more authentically. This process is supported with compassion and understanding for all the ways you have needed to hide and protect your vulnerable self. You can have clarity about setting boundaries and making decisions. You can start to feel more alive and have more freedom to be more "You!"
I strive to make the process of self-exploration and healing more comfortable, creative and productive. I am trained in attachment-based models and use IFS "Parts work", and other therapeutic techniques to help you alter patterns that are not serving you. This will help you feel better, have more satisfying relationships, and live a fuller life.
My work as a psychologist is informed by my interest in yoga, dance, meditation, and the benefits of bringing greater mindfulness to all aspects of life. I enjoy helping new mothers and fathers with the transition into parenthood and working with couples.
I help women entering perimenopause.
I have extensive experience in working with adolescents.
