About
I offer individual psychotherapy for children and adolescents who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, relational and academic difficulties, or struggling with post-trauma symptoms. I am a compassionate, creative, dedicated therapist and Play Therapy Specialist. I have over twenty-seven years of experience working with children and have been a parent for twenty six years. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a teacher for ten years. I have experience working with children from a variety of cultures, ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds, including foster and adoptive children.
I create a safe, nurturing environment for parents and children alike. With children, I use a combination of play, art, narrative, trauma-focused and cognitive behavioral techniques. I support parents in gaining the insight and skills needed to assist their children with understanding and managing their feelings and behaviors.
I know it can be frustrating and alarming when your child is suffering and you don't know why or just aren't sure how to help them feel better. Let's work together to give your child the tools they need for a happy new beginning.
