Pain seeks our attention. Emotional distress manifests or "speaks" through physical distress. Adults living with physical or emotional pain can benefit from BODY-CENTERED psychotherapy. Sessions can include BODYWORK. Dreamwork and expressive therapies can also be utilized to amplify awareness. Like dreams, body symptoms are dynamic conduits into the unconscious; likewise, they serve as messengers charged with waking us up and redirecting our energies back toward life. Clients become adept explorers, listeners & learners, moving with curiosity toward rather than away from feeling, as they befriend disenfranchised parts of themselves.
I am dually licensed in clinical social work & massage therapy. Certificates include Oncology Social Work; Amma (Oriental Massage) and Embodyment Therapy (Body-Dialoguing); and as a mentee of Richard Moss, MD (spirituality/consciousness). Since 2006, I have been working with individuals, families, & groups at HealthAlliance Hospital Oncology Support Program.
The focus of my work is with adult individuals and family members living with the uncertainty and challenges that can accompany life-threatening and terminal illness. Other areas of specialty include chronic pain and body symptoms, existential anxiety, trauma, life and relationship transitions, grief, and creative roadblocks.
