Hello, my name is Elisabeth T. White, LMFT. I have been working in the world of mental and behavioral health for nearly 20 years. I focus on the use of DBT skills and somatic psychology to navigate areas such as substance use, depression, anxiety, and codependency. I tend to work with older teens, young adults, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use, as well as other addictive patterns, and relational conflict. I work very hard at being transparent, mindful, and steady. I tend to build strong relationships with my clients because, in the end, the relationship is curative.
First and foremost, I am relational. Very little can happen in therapy if I do not build rapport and connection with you. I can have the most exceptional therapeutic skill set, however if you feel missed, unseen, and unknown, the work cannot begin.
To begin to practice how to bring safety to the body is essential while also having a practical set of skills to manage dysregulation when it occurs. I find somatic practices coupled with DBT skills to be an effective combination in my work.
