Hi! My name is Eleanor (she/her). I am a queer, white, neurodivergent Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist based in Chicago, Illinois. I primarily work with people with cognitive impairment and their loved ones, whether due to strokes, traumatic brain injuries, dementia, neurodivergence, chronic health issues (i.e. multiple sclerosis, Long-COVID), or functional neurological symptoms, or some combination thereof. My work experiences range from hospice care to a helpline to skilled nursing to support services for older adults.
I aim to work from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive lens. My approach is collaborative and relational, utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also provide Cognitive Rehabilitation, which involves using compensatory tools to adapt to cognitive challenges in daily life.
Whether virtual, in-person, or over the phone, I work to create a warm and open atmosphere. For in-person sessions, I wear a KN95 mask and run an air purifier, and others are not required, however encouraged to mask, as well.
