I provide mental health care that is gender-affirming, trauma informed, and culturally sensitive. My primary clinical interests include anxiety, depression, gender and sexuality, relationship conflicts, family/parenting dynamics, and trauma. I see individuals (12 years and older) and families. I am currently working toward licensure.

I am a WV native and have been working with children/adolescents/adults for over 17 years. Helping others is my passion. I am an advocate for the families receiving my services. I am a graduate of West Virginia State University with a B.A. in Psychology and Liberty University with an M.A. Professional Counseling. I am trained in EMDR therapy, which is a model of therapy used to treat trauma and other disorders. I am currently taking courses in American Sign Language and hope to eventually offer services to the deaf community. Whether working with a client or another clinician, I recognize that I am working with another human who should be viewed as a whole. I believe in supporting clients and supervisees through difficulties by utilizing a person centered approach and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques in order to facilitate a space of safety and growth. I am theoretically centered by Existential theory but influenced heavily by Humanistic and Behavioral theories. I am well versed in CBT, DBT, solution focused, health coaching and moderation coaching. My approach to supervision is heavily connected to my therapeutic style.

Contrary to what many people believe, not all adversity is bad. Through an intentional and concentrated effort, our challenges can be turned into strengths. Trauma occurs when adversity in life outweighs our available resources. As a EMDR and Trauma Certified therapist, I also incorporate techniques informed by the Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing (SE) for a bottom up approach. However, my main goal is to remind you of what we all intuitively know - that healing can only happen within the context of emotionally safe relationships. You are safe here.

As a therapist, I see my role as one of helping you change the things you want to change, teaching you some ways to do this and helping explore your life. Old ways can be changed, new ways can be learned. Looking at the way you think about you and your individual experiences, using methods such as CBT and alternative techniques, is part of my therapy work. I am not married to one particular style, but to what works and is effective for you as an individual. I work iprimarily ndividually, amd with some couples. I see teens who are over 17. I am easy to talk to.
