As a former Division I Athlete and US National Team Member, I believe that one of the bravest things we can do is learning how to love ourselves through the process of owning our own storying. Often times the first brave step is just reaching out. Society tends to view therapy as something you need if you have “failed” on your own. However, I tend to think the counseling process is one where we invite someone else to walk alongside us on our journey of figuring out who we are. I believe that as humans we are designed for relationship, and we aren’t intended to do and figure it all out alone.

Hi there! Remain Connected Counseling is a faith based counseling practice. We have a holistic view for healing: body, soul, and spirit. We love getting the opportunity to guide people in their journey of personal healing and self discovery. Our heart as a team of therapists is to help people connect with God, themselves, and others so they can find fulfillment and purpose. We love listening to clients, helping you find solutions, psycho-educating you about emotions and most of all creating a safe place to process and attain healing.

I'm passionate about equipping clients with knowledge and skills to help them learn, grow, and heal. I strive to bring genuineness, warmth, and authenticity to my sessions in a way that creates a space safe enough for my clients to do the same. I enjoy working with teens and adults on issues related to perfectionism, people-pleasing, codependency, relationship dynamics, sports performance, and sports injuries. A person cannot be truly understood without a consideration of various aspects of their social, familial, temporal, spiritual, economic, and physical environment. It is through this compassionate lens that my work begins. If you are someone who has suffered through trauma, or is struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, anger, or going through a big life change, I would love to help. I specialize in working with men's issues, with professionals & athletes who struggle with performance pressures, & with those with attachment trauma. I use EMDR to target traumatic memories and help you process then in a safe way.

As humans, our natural inclination is to move away from pain. But at a certain point, we may find that the strategies that once protected us are causing us even more pain. Together we can find ways to break old cycles that are keeping you stuck in order for you to move into the wholeness you desire. Many times when healing feels impossible, it is only an indication that what we have tried so far will not suffice. Often this requires slowing down and trusting parts of ourselves that we have long ignored.

I enjoy working with diverse individuals experiencing a variety of life stressors including life transitions, complex trauma and child/adolescent social and emotional issues. I believe that everyone can change, yet most don’t have the tools to do so. Early childhood experiences shape the way we see the world, ourselves, and others. We can often go through life without acknowledging our unhealthy, subconscious thoughts until we start to recognize harmful patterns in our lives. Bringing emotions such as fear, shame, and insecurities to the light will keep them from taking root any further.

My therapeutic philosophy is grounded in positive psychology. I believe that although we face challenges, we posses strengths. With support we can overcome emotional pain, be healed, be reconciled, and thrive. l use a variety of techniques during counseling sessions. My client centered approach includes narrative therapy, hope and family systems theory - genograms. I have over 17 years experience as a school counselor, I understand the school system. I know strategies to improve your child's grades. I will partner with you to strengthen your child's ability to deal with bullying, anxiety, and improve behavior.
