He has more than 25 years of experience working in healthcare, mental health, with a specialization in couples therapy. He has successfully worked with men, women, adolescents, Veterans, and the LGBTQI community creating individualized care for mental health and substance abuse disorders. I’m Hayley, an AMFT, experienced in working with individuals and couples. Many of my clients struggle with perfectionism, high-achievement, hyper-independence, or trauma. They may notice a pattern of not feeling good enough, adequate, or worthy no matter how hard they try. This tends to impact their ability to rely on others, feel connected in their relationships, or authentically connect to themselves. Often my couples feel stuck in miscommunication, conflict, and disconnection. They feel alone even when together, angry, or perhaps sad that their relationship isn't what they imagined. As a licensed clinical social worker, I have been in the field of mental health with a focus on complex trauma and substance use since 2013. When partnering with someone in therapy, my focus is relearning to care for our wounded parts with love and empathy. My clinical experience is broad; most recently my work has been with intergenerational trauma, managing emotional flooding, attachment, and creating a culturally compassionate space for Native folks.

I was born and raised in Palm Springs. In the past 20+ years, I’ve also become established in San Diego from Los Angeles where I completed my schooling, training and early career. I began as a social worker with in-home foster care, expanding to mental health therapy for children and family systems. I have a passion for coming alongside others and believe it's just part of my DNA as a human being. 25 years ago I began my career as a medical assistant and a teacher. In my late-20's I enlisted in the US Navy, where I served as a first responder and was part of the Sexual Assault Victims Intervention team. I've lived overseas with kids in tow, and have a deep understanding of the effects of betrayal, infidelity, and cross addictions. I've worked as a Hospice Spiritual and Bereavement Coordinator, a counselor at several crisis houses and transitional living centers, as well for non-profit agencies providing therapeutic services.
