I grew up in Southern California and received my BA from California State University, San Marcos in Sociology and Liberal Arts. I obtained my MSW from the University of Southern California in 2002 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2008. I have over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families in a variety of settings. My experience includes working with individuals, couples, and families. I have a strong foundation in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, and substance use disorders.

I believe healing is possible, and there is a path back to your truest self. The pain of life’s stressful, traumatic, and mental or physical health experiences might nudge you to mask, lash out, shut down, or use other creative strategies to survive. I’ve found that cultivating self-compassion and curious attention toward painful experience gradually gives way to spaciousness, growth, and peace. Hi, I'm Alana. Reaching out for support can be hard, especially when you are moving through the groundlessness of loss or transition, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, drained, or ashamed, experiencing a lack of meaning, or when you feel like you have lost a part of yourself.
